Smaller capacitor has special termination

TDK Corporation’s Single Mega Cap 1210 is smaller in size in comparison with the company’s standard Mega Cap while offering the same functionality.
The new device is a single capacitor with special metal frame termination which allows it to be mounted onto a PCB. In applications where there are significant temperature fluctuations, it can match the changes in size of the PCB with terminations that keep it in place. It also withstands movement shock. These features provide the reliability and durability that automotive applications require.
Low ESR, ESL and a high ripple current capability are features of the device that can be used in applications such as smoothing circuits, power supply, DC/DC converter and ABS. The device has a temperature ranges of –55 to +125°C and a capacitance range of 0.047 to 10µF.
