Ansys v11.0 speeds CAE with improved integration 01/04/2007

Ansys has released version 11.0 of its engineering simulation software which promises improved advanced analysis, meshing, optimisation, multiphysics and multibody dynamics.

Version 11.0 introduces new solver technology to reduce time when performing transient solutions. It uses variational technology (VT) as an advanced predictor-corrector algorithm to reduce the overall number of iterations for nonlinear static and transient analyses. This is said to provide a 2X to 5X speed increase for the initial solutions The VT Accelerator technology makes re-solves 3X to 10X faster for parameter changes.

The release also provides improved integration of Ansys (multiphysics) and Ansys CFX (fluids) technologies in the Ansys Workbench platform. Users can set up, solve and post-process a two-way fluid structure interaction (FSI) simulation completely in Ansys Workbench.

Workbench is also the integration platform for the advanced physics capabilities in Ansys CFX and BladeModeler which allow engineers to model rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, turbines, expanders, turbochargers and inducers.
