Flat woven sleeves protect from EMC 01/05/2007

Federal-Mogul’s Systems Protection Group has developed a line of flat profile products to protect wiring from abrasion, bundling, electromagnetic interference and damage from high temperatures.

Developed under the Bentley-Harris brand, they have been engineered to be used with electrical distribution systems using flat flexible cable (FFC) but they can also accommodate round wire bundles and are especially useful when packaging space is limited

One flat braided sleeve uses metallised yarns, a drain wire and an electrically conductive coating for improved resistance and sleeve formation.
The protective shield can be braided directly over flat flexible cable or wire harnesses in a variety of widths using a continuous inline braiding process.
Another solution allows for the controlled placement of a single drain wire for direct grounding purposes.
